The Dutch label Brilliant Classics released in December 2014 István Várdai's new CD featuring the complete works of the great Russian composer for solo cello and orchestra. 

A special feature are the two versions of the famous Rococo Variations, the original “classical” version and the revised concert version done by the virtuoso Wilhelm Fitzenhagen. The CD was recorded in the Kodály Center of Pécs, Várdai's native town, with the Pannon Philharmonic Orchestra and its music director, Tibor Bogányi.
