István Várdai has been appointed Professor of Cello at the Music Academy of Vienna (Universität für Musik und Darstellende Kunst). Mr. Várdai started his tenure in October 2018. He follows in this prestigious position the world-famous cellist, Heinrich Schiff who died in 2016.  



The University, founded more than 200 years ago, is widely considered as one of the world's foremost educational institutions of classical music. Mr. Várdai has been chosen after a search process of almost two years.
