Viktória Mester and Dénes Várjon at Maribor Festival
Maribor Festival celebrated this year its 50th anniversary. Europe's Cultural Capital in 2012, the Slovenian city has invited for its prestigious Festival, held between September 5th and 15th, dozens of prominent musicians from all over the world.
Dénes Várjon has taken part in as many as six of the Festival's 16 concerts, partly as a soloist, partly as a chamber musician, playing, among others, works of Mendelssohn, Messiaen, Bach, Janacek, Dvorák, Schubert, Liszt and Kurtág. Viktória Mester sang on September 9th works by Pergolesi and Vivaldi and at the closing gala concert, on September 15th, Beethoven's Symphony No.9.
