Dénes Várjon with the Budapest Festival Orchestra
Dénes Várjon was the soloist of Iván Fischer's world famous Hungarian orchestra in three concerts in Budapest and two in Salzburg, playing Ernst von Dohnányi's Variations on a Nursery Rhyme.
The Budapest concerts held on October 12th, 13th and 14th in the Béla Bartók National Concert Hall were dedicated to Sir Georg Solti in celebration of his centenary. Solti supported the career of the young Hungarian pianist and was also conductor emeritus of the BFO. The concerts in Salzburg took place on October 18th and 19th in the city's Grosses Festspielhaus.
