Várjon Dénes gave two concerts at the Bartók Marathon on February 3rd in the Palace of Arts in Budapest.

The Marathon, each year devoted to a single composer, was organized by the Budapest Festival Orchestra and the Palace of Arts. Artistic Director Iván Fischer has chosen Béla Bartók as composer of the 2013 event and has invited the Bartók specialist Dénes Várjon to two of the 11 concerts. In the afternon Várjon played works for solo piano in the Festival Theatre, whereas in the evening he joined the Pannon Philharmonic Orchestra and conductor Tibor Bogányi to perform the composer's Piano Concerto No.3.
