A Busy Start to a New Year for Dénes Várjon
2014 started with an extremely busy schedule for Dénes Várjon with recitals, master-classes and chamber music concerts in Paris, Philadelphia, Washington, London, Padova and Budapest.
On January 13th he played in Cité de la Musique, Paris, a solo programme entitled "At night" with works by Chopin, Schumann, Janácek, Bartók and Ravel. From France he flew to the US for a master-class at Curtis Institute on January 15th and a recital a day later in Philadelphia's Benjamin Franklin Hall. On January 19th he was awaited in the concert series of the Phillips Collection in Washington D.C. Returning to Europe he travelled to London for a concert in Wigmore Hall on February 1st with Janine Jansen, Steven Isserlis and Izabella Simon. The concert tour ended on February 2nd in his native Budapest where he performed Bach's English Suite in A Minor at the Bach Maraton of the Budapest Festival Orchestra and the Palace of Arts.
