Huge Success of Kaposfest under Baráti and Várdai as Artistic Leaders
The first edition of Kaposfest Chamber Music Festival under the artistic leadership of Kristóf Baráti and István Várdai was held between 13-19 August and proved to be a huge success.
One of Europe's leading chamber music festival, Kaposfest, held in the Hungarian town of Kaposvár, invited Kristóf Baráti and István Várdai to serve for the period 2015-2018 as new artistic directors. The first edition under the new leaders has been a tremendous success. All 14 concerts were sold out and extremely well-received both by audiences and critics. Musicians invited included Finghin Collins, Gábor Farkas, Benjámin Perényi and Klára Würtz (piano), the Apollon Musagete string quartet, Mária Celeng (soprano), the Saint Ephraim Male Choir, Andreas Ottensamer (clarinet), Dudu Carmel (oboe), Szabolcs Zempléni (horn), Miklós Perényi and Reinhard Latzko (cello), Máté Szücs (viola), Koh Gabriel Kameda (violin), Gábor Boldoczki (trumpet) and the Ferenc Erkel Chamber Orchestra.
